out in the void
earth’s existence the center
of the human consciousness
quite unknown
ignorant of the stars
and the spaces in between
electro signal propagation
into the interstellar reaches
traveling for decades past
arrive at an unexpected sensory destination
a sentience is aware
of mankind’s ambitions
mankind’s violence
mankind’s love
mankind’s individuality
repulsed, the decision is made
and a single minded flood
prepares for war

ignorant
mankind continues on
pleased, as always
with mundane accomplishments
primitive achievements
and spectacular transgressions
so the days turn
and events transpire
human probes perish
out in the system
as planetary sensors
tell earth a story
of her own demise

assault - massive as it is complete
ships hulking and terrifying
disgorging the elements of extinction
no communication
no negotiation
the world has no choice
but to suffer terrestrial destruction
outgunned and outmanned
into the dust
into the future
